Our Products

An item says "sold out," will you be restocking?

When we say limited quantity, we mean limited quantity.

Due to the make-do nature of our items, most of our products are limited in quantity. We replenish collection pieces made from fabrics and textiles that are readily available and is cut and sewn on a piece-by-piece basis.

Do you make bonnets for all seasons?

Yes! Our Geo and Piper collection bonnets (featuring cotton fleece lining) are appropriate year-round options in most climates, including the warmer months.

All of our bonnets include a layer of cotton batting for additional structure, absorption and warmth.

For cooler months, we feature bonnets lined with bamboo fleece and are perfect for keeping your little one cozy and are available during the fall and winter or until we stop producing them.

What does MTO mean?

MTO or Made to Order generally ships 1-2 weeks from the moment order is placed. Please note that all *MTO products need to be cut and sewn and will need more time for processing. We will do our best to expedite the process. You will receive an email notification on *MTO products once it has been shipped.

Any other items will be packaged and shipped 1-3 days after order is placed. Some exceptions may apply.

Can I add a gift note or gift wrap to my order?

You most certainly may! We’d be happy to include a personalized message from you. You can find the Gift Wrap option under Products in the Menu bar.

All orders are thoughtfully wrapped in kraft paper, includes a dustcover, and is shipped in a compostable or recycled envelope; a packing slip that may be used as a gift receipt is included in each shipment and does not include any payment details. Any additional gift wrap can be provided upon request. Let us know what you have in mind.

Our Baby Steps Toward Sustainability

Fabrics

Our fabric choices are based on availability, quality of the textile, and overall fabric's natural fiber content. We then design within those confines. Our items are constructed with care, and we take our time to ensure product integrity. During production we optimize use of fabric by cutting only what we need and save any scraps for future production.

We've opted for a cotton/linen logo and size tags to replace commonly used acetate polyester or nylon.

Packaging

Hang tags and packaging inserts are unbleached, recyclable, and compostable paper. We use hemp cord or jute to replace plastic barbs to attach tags to clothing. We pack all items in multi-use polypropylene dustcovers for additional protection during transport. Our mailers are 100% compostable or recyclable.

Services

The general idea is to maintain and keep nice what You already own. We
offer repairs and soon to come a buyback program. See our Services page for more info.

Restock

We don't restock. We have limited runs on all products. Fabric availability determines our quantities. And yes, we are picky about fabrics we choose.

Seasonal Items

We make products for two seasons, Winter and Summer. Our products do not expire, nor will they ever go on sale based on seasonality.

Textiles

What are your products made from?

All Luh♥︎duckie products are made from the highest-quality reclaimed textiles, including linen, wool, cashmere, camel hair, silk, and ramie to name a few. We spend a lot of time sourcing, deconstructing and sorting our make-do's to
ensure that only the finest of natural and natural-blend fabrics are used in the construction of our finished pieces. Now, there will be occasions where fabric is unknown and will be indicated in product description. In which case we will conduct a burn test to determine as best we can. All bonnets are lined with 100% cotton flannel or 100% organic bamboo fleece; all of these options offer a soft feel on your baby’s delicate skin. For the materials used on a specific bonnet, please refer to the item’s product page.

Product Care

How do I care for my Luh♥︎duckie items?

Care instructions are included with each product. We recommend
caring for your Luh♥︎duckie item according to its specific instructions.
Any items with decorative stitching or is made of fabrics with animal-based protein (wool, camel hair, cashmere) should be laundered
gently by hand.

Bathing a bunny bonnet requires a little more care. ❤️

Are your products preshrunk?

All of our products are made with fabrics that have been prewashed. Please note that some products may still experience minimal shrinkage when washed, especially in warm/hot water and when any agitation incurs. We recommend following our laundering instructions for minimizing shrinking and maintaining product's original shape and overall appearance. Care instructions can be found on product page and will also be provided with each product purchased.

For Bird Bath

Spot cleaning with a mild soap and cold water should do the trick. Blot
or dab over spot with a damp towel. Avoid scrubbing or twisting.

For an Overall Shower

Luh♥︎duckie products deserve to be gently washed by hand with little to no agitation (scrubbing, twisting, or rubbing).

Please do not machine wash, unless absolutely necessary, but only in gentle/delicate cycle with like colors and cold water. *Items may be machine washed on delicate at your discretion; we recommend a mesh laundry bag for extra protection in the machine. Due to the composition of fibers, please do not use bleach or any oxidizing agents. Most importantly - do not tumble dry on high. Heat damages fibers and overall composition. Line dry or lay flat. Whether it be by shrinking and or fading. The goal is to further preserve the textile's natural beauty and maintain the item's overall shape. Low heat to press.

Ironing

Iron with a bit of steam as needed to release wrinkles and reshape your
item. We recommend pressing the underside of ears to release any creases from shipping or storing.

Care Products Included

A dust bag will be included with all bonnets and Pal bows for safe
keeping and to minimizing exposure to dust and direct sunlight.

Sizing

What size should I order?

Luh♥︎duckie bonnets should ideally fit snugly to baby's head, with their ears covered and minimal gaping around the face.

Our bonnets generally fit true to age size, though we recommend measuring your duckling's head circumference to find the best fit. They also tend to fit best toward the end of the age range for that size, as they are intended to fit a child up to the age listed. For example, a 6-12 month bonnet is intended to fit a child up to 12-months and will usually fit best toward the 12-month mark.

For more information on fit, including measurements, please refer to our sizing chart.

Safety

Are there safety considerations that I should know about bonnet or bow wearing?

Bonnets and bows are intended to be worn under direct supervision only.
Do not leave baby or pal unattended, sleeping or awake, with their bonnets or bows.
